Artist Statement

I consider myself an observer of nature and have a fascination with geology, topography, cloud formations and the juxtaposition of land and water.  My photographic intention is to portray nature in black and white for its simplicity  featuring the interplay of light on various shapes, forms and textures.

As a photographer, I want to discover my creative process by understanding the camera's limitations, explore my subject from various camera angles and capture the photograph that most reflects my vision.  My goal is to impart a sense of awareness, evoke an emotion or inspire the viewer toward empathy for and preservation of the environment.

About

Liz is a Florida based photographer currently focusing her photographic endeavors on the State.  She has found that Florida has such a diverse ecosystem that she can spend much of her time outdoors in an environment that is continually changing.  Liz utilizes a motorhome for traveling to Florida's State Parks, Preserves and other areas within the state.  She said, "I never get tired of the landscape as it's biodiversity changes in inches which is equivalent to thousands of feet in elevation in other places.  Florida's biodiversity is what makes Florida such a unique and fragile environment.
